Cash dispenser
Barclays Bank in Enfield is famous as the site of the very first ATM (automated teller machine) in the world. Comedy actor Reg Varney, best known for the sitcom "On the Buses" made the first withdrawal. We can't find any stamps showing an ATM but Romania issued this envelope for the EFIRO 2004 stamp exhibition in Bucharest. Please contact us if you can locate a stamp showing an ATM!

Members of Enfield Philatelic Society may like to visit our neighbouring Society, Barnet and District Philatelic Society. They meet on the first and third Monday evening each month, except for July and August. You can find full details of their programme here.
